At long range in PUBG the bullet flies in an arc and drops noticeably. To hit, you need the distance — the hold depends on it. Eyeballing it by map grid squares is awkward and imprecise. The PUBG URC rangefinder fixes that: it measures the distance between two points on the map in metres.
How it works
- Open the map tab in the app and select the current map (Erangel, Miramar and others — each has its own scale).
- Mark the first point — for example, your position.
- Mark the second point — the target or a landmark.
- The app shows the distance in metres between them.
Maps differ in scale, so the rangefinder is tied to a specific map — the same grid square means a different number of metres on Erangel versus Sanhok. Map calibration is stored in your account and updated with the app.
Why you need it
- Vertical hold. Knowing the distance, you know how far above the target to aim and stop dropping bullets short.
- Scope and weapon choice. The distance suggests what fits: an AR burst, a DMR or a bolt-action.
- Planning rotations. Quickly judge whether you can make it to the zone or the circle.
Tip
Measure the typical distances on your favourite spots in advance — that way in a fight you already hold the correction in your head and spend time only on aiming, not on maths.
